BAYSIDE — More than 100 firefighters raced to a two-story home at 206th Street to battle a fast-moving fire Tuesday afternoon, officials said.

The fire broke out about 4 p.m. at 48-11 206th St., near Glen and Campus roads. It quickly escalated to a second-alarm within 10 minutes, an FDNY spokesman said.

It was unclear if anyone was home at the roughly 90-year-old house, which sits in the middle of the block just off 48th Avenue, officials said.

It took firefighters about an hour to get the blaze under control.

No residents were injured in the fire. One firefighter suffered a minor injury, an FDNY spokesman said.

Officials did not immediately know what sparked the fire at the house, which according to city records is valued at about $550,000.

The owner of the home could not be reached for comment.
