QUEENS — Cops have nabbed a man suspected of pulling off a series of armed bank heists in Glen Oaks, Kew Gardens and Flushing, including two in the same day.
John Lopez, of Ozone Park, faces first-degree robbery charges for the robberies that started on April 23.
Lopez first hit a Bank of America at 39-12 Main St. on April 23, passing the teller a note, but was forced to flee empty-handed, police said.
Three days later, he struck again — this time armed with a gun, cops said.
Police said he entered the Chase Bank on 99-00 Metropolitan Ave. at 1:30 p.m., passed a note and made off with an undetermined amount of cash.
An hour later, he is suspected of knocking off a Capital One Bank at 252-25 Union Turnpike and again making off with an unknown amount of cash.
Nobody was hurt in the robberies, police said.
