MANHATTAN — A East Harlem man pleaded guilty to raping one Upper East Side woman and sexually abusing another over the summer, the Manhattan District Attorney's office announced Wednesday.

Jason Quinones, 22, crawled into a 27-year-old woman's East 90th Street ground-floor apartment at roughly 4:30 a.m. on Aug. 13, 2011. While she slept, he took her cell phone so she couldn't call police and then he raped her, the DA's office said.

Quinones had followed another woman to her home on East 83rd Street on July 2, 2011 at about 3 a.m. She forced himself into her apartment and then pushed her onto a couch and sexually abused her, according to the District Attorney's office.

"The defendant committed two atrocious sex crimes,” District Attorney Cyrus Vance, Jr. said in a statement. “In both cases, he saw a chance to sexually assault a woman while she was vulnerable, and both times, he took it."

Quinones is expected to be sentenced on June 20.
