MANHATTAN — Community members and students will hold a rally Thursday in support of Fenoisky Pena-Mora, the dean of Columbia University’s Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science, who is being pushed out by fellow faculty members.

The rally for Pena-Mora, who has been the dean of the engineering school since 2009, will be held at 2 p.m. in front of the school at West 116th Street and Broadway.

Those leading the rally intend to highlight his accomplishments over the past three years, such as improving the school’s national ranking from 21 in 2009 to 15 in 2012.

But faculty members have called for Pena-Mora to be ousted from his position, reportedly claiming he has ignored professors’ concerns and left the faculty’s morale at “an all-time low.”
