STATEN ISLAND — A 25-year-old ex-convict was arraigned Wednesday on charges of shooting four men, including one fatally, last week, law enforcement officials said.

Kyle Charles, of Staten Island allegedly opened fire on four men at 173 Brabant Street in the early morning hours of May 5, according to the criminal complaint filed against him in Staten Island.

An accomplice — who, along with Charles, were apparently seeking revenge for an earlier incident, a police source said — remains on the lam, police said.

Victim Justin Stokes, 19, who was struck in the arm and stomach, died of his injuries, police said.

The other victims — ages 24, 26 and 30 — survived, police said. The 24-year-old victim was shot twice in his legs and the 30-year-old was hit on the buttocks. Both were listed in stable condition, authorities said.

The 26-year-old man was hit in the stomach and was in critical condition, police said.

Charles was arrested by detectives in the 120th Precinct and the NYPD's High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas task force Thursday night, police said.

He was charged with second-degree murder, three counts of attempted murder, first-degree reckless endangerment and second-degree criminal possession of weapon, according to the complaint.

He pled not guilty and was remanded. He is due back in court on May 24.

Charles, who sources said has 25 prior arrests, previously served up to three years in prison for attempted robbery, records show. He was released in 2008.
