Woman Critically Injured in Washington Heights Fire

MANHATTAN — A woman was critically injured in a Washington Heights fire Saturday night, fire officials said.

The blaze at 1 Bogardus Pl., near Ellwood Street, also left a firefighter hurt, according to the FDNY.

The fire broke out on the fifth floor of the seven-story building at 10:21 p.m. and was placed under control about 40 minutes later.

One woman was critically injured and rushed to New York-Presbyterian Hospital.  A firefighter was also taken there with minor injuries.
