Man Wanted for Stealing Cash and Cigarettes from Bodegas

MANHATTAN — A masked robber is wanted for holding up bodegas in Chelsea and East Harlem at gunpoint, making off with cash and cigarettes, police said.

Police said the suspect struck first on Feb. 16, holding up Andy's Deli at 142 Ninth Ave., near West 19th Street.

Then on March 11, he allegedly hit Yemen King at 323 E. 108th St., near First Avenue.

After that he robbed two other stores in Chelsea — Chelsea Grocery and Deli at 239 Eighth Ave. and Alaska Food Market at 108 Ninth Ave., police said, with the most recent robbery coming on May 1.

According to cops, no one was injured during the hold-ups.

Police say the suspect is 20- to 30-years-old, 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-8 and 160-180 pounds.
