NEW YORK CITY — A man was stabbed to death by an acquaintance Friday inside an Astoria apartment after a drinking session, sources and authorities said.

The 28-year-old victim had been drinking with three other men inside an apartment 25-60 Steinway St. Friday evening when he announce around 11:30 p.m. that he wanted to leave, sources said.

Wahid Elawame, 35, allegedly pulled out a knife and told the victim he couldn't go, sources said.

Two other men drinking with them fled through a window onto a fire escape and called 911.

When cops arrived, they found the victim had been stabbed once in the torso; Elawame was still on the scene, police said.

The victim was taken to Elmhurst Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Elawame was charged with Murder, kidnapping and criminal possession of a weapon.

It was unclear why Elawame refused to allow his victim to leave.

The victim's name was withheld until his family could be notified.
