Police Hunt Hammer-Wielding Rapist in Bed-Stuy

BROOKLYN — Police are on the hunt for a suspected rapist who threatened a teenage girl with a hammer, then raped her in a Bedford-Stuyvesant alley.

The girl, 18, was approached by a man in his early 20s who showed her a hammer and threatened to hit her with it if she wouldn't provide oral sex. The man then forced the girl into a back alley near Quincy Street and Broadway, where he raped her and then ran away.

The girl, who was not injured, was taken to Woodhull Hospital.

The frightening assault happened on Monday, April 9 about 12:40 a.m. The girl was taken to Woodhull Hospital.

Police are asking the public's help in tracking down the suspect, who was described as a man between 20 and 22 years old with black frame glasses, about 5 feet, 8 inches tall and 150 pounds.

He was last seen wearing a black Rich Yung cap, a hoodie, dark jeans, a dark jean jacket, red, white and black sneakers, a  North Face black backpack.
