QUEENS - A school bus driver was arrested on Thursday morning after leaving a toddler unattended on the bus after dropping off the rest of the students at school, driving back to her neighborhood and parking the vehicle, police said.

Ana Garcia, 62, was charged with endangering the welfare of a child after police discovered the 2-year-old girl sitting by her self in a private school bus at Christie Avenue and 99th Street in Elmhurst.

Police had received a 911 call around 9 a.m. alerting them to the child on the bus, which was parked near Garcia's home.

The girl was taken to the 110th precinct station house, where she was reunited with her mother.

Garcia faces up to a year in prison if convicted.
