Woman Wanted for Impersonating a Cop on the UWS

MANHATTAN — Police are hunting for a woman wanted for impersonating a cop before robbing another woman outside an Upper West Side bank.

Wearing a gold shield on her belt, the suspect approached the victim outside a Chase Bank on Broadway near West 73rd Street around 1:45 p.m. on March 13, police said. The suspect identified herself as a police officer and then took the victim’s wallet out of her purse and removed a debit card before running away.

The woman is described as being in her 30s, about 5-foot-5 and between 125 and 130 pounds. She was last seen wearing a white sweater, blue jeans and a black fanny pack.
