MANHATTAN - A Virginia man trying to sneak on to the subway in Midtown was carrying drugs and a loaded handgun, police said.

Travis Marks, 26, of Richmond, Va., walked through the exit gate of the subway station at West 42nd Street and Eighth Avenue in an attempt to beat the fare around 5:30 p.m. on Friday, police charged.

When NYPD officers Mohammed Ahmed and Adam England of Transit District 1 stopped Travis, he tried to toss a plastic bag containing white powder, police said.

The officers arrested Travis and found he was armed with a loaded weapon -- a 9mm Bryco 59 pistol, cops said.

Travis was charged with possessing drugs and a weapon as well as theft of service and criminal trespass.
