QUEENS — Firefighters rescued a woman caught in a fire in Lindenwood Friday morning, authorities said.

The blaze broke out on the fourth floor of 153-25 88th St., near 155th Avenue, about 7:32 a.m., the FDNY said.

When firefighters pulled the woman from the burning building, she was not breathing and her heart had stopped, fire officials said. But the firefighters managed to resuscitate her with help from EMS workers, officials said.

She was taken to Jamaica Hospital and is currently listed in critical, but stable condition.

Four other people suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the fire, officials added.

More than 14 units and 70 firefighters responded to battle the blaze, which was brought under control at 8:18 a.m.

It was not immediately clear what sparked the fire.
