Man Killed by Train in Astoria After Falling Onto Tracks

QUEENS — A man was struck and killed by a train near an Astoria subway station early Sunday morning in what appears to be a tragic accident, authorities said.

The unidentified, 24-year-old man was hit by a Manhattan-bound N train at the 31st Street and Broadway station just before 5:30 a.m., according to an MTA spokesman.

Sources said he appears to have fallen off the platform.

The man, whose identity was not released pending family notification, was pronounced dead at the scene.

No criminality was suspected.
