BRONX — A 20-year-old woman plunged 14 stories to her death from the balcony of her boyfriend's ex-girlfriend's apartment in Tremont, Police Commissioner Ray Kelly said Friday.

Sienna Edwards was delivering birthday presents to her boyfriend's daughter, on his behalf, to the former girlfriend's home at 750 East 179th St. on Thursday at 9:30 p.m., according to sources. The unidentified man, who has a 3-year-old daughter with his ex, couldn't drop off the gifts himself because the toddler's mom has an order of protection against him, Kelly said.

When Edwards got to the 14th floor apartment — where the tot's mom was with two other unidentified women — she made a call to 911, sources said.

But she didn't say a word, Kelly added.

"In the background, there are voices that say, 'You're not going to leave here alive!'" Kelly said during a briefing at One Police Plaza.

The 911 dispatcher heard as many as six threats in the background, said Paul Browne, the NYPD's chief spokesman.

Emergency responders were one block away, but couldn't trace the exact address, Browne added.

About 10 minutes later, the tot's mom called 911 to say that Edwards had jumped off the balcony, sources said.

"I heard a boom. I came out on my terrace, and I saw her laying there," said Cheryl Thomas, 64, who was laying on her bed in her third-floor apartment. "It was so loud. I thought somebody took a TV and threw it down.

"My heard was beating fast because it was so loud," she added.

When paramedics and cops arrived, Edwards was already dead, sources said.

"She went over the balcony [ledge], which is about five-feet high," Kelly said.

It was unclear if the toddler was around during the fall, but Kelly said that one of the women took her out of the apartment at some point.

Cops Friday were questioning the baby's mother, the baby's father and the two other women in the apartment.

No one has been arrested.

The 3-year-old's parents had a tumultuous relationship, sources said, with at least five domestic incident reports.
