Fire in Market Street Building Leaves One Injured

MANHATTAN — A fire tore through a Chinatown building Wednesday night, leaving one person injured, authorities said.

Twelve units with 65 firefighters responded to the blaze at 28 Market St., near Henry Street, just after 6:20 p.m., a fire department spokesman said.

One person suffered non-life threatening injuries and was being evaluated at the scene.

It was not immediately clear what had sparked the fire, which was brought under control by 7:05 p.m.
