BRONX — A police officer shot an emotionally disturbed woman who allegedly hurled a knife at cops in Schuylerville Friday, police said.

The drama unfolded just before 10 a.m. when a man called 911 to say that his girlfriend was stabbing herself in the stomach, police said.

The couple had been fighting, and the 42-year-old woman locked herself in the bathroom with three knives and threatened to kill herself, police said.

The caller, a 42-year-old man, issued a warning, too — there were knives "all over the place" in the Lasalle Avenue apartment, a source said.

When cops arrived to the home, they kicked the bathroom door in — only to have the woman throw a 10-inch knife at them, the NYPD said. The blade cut the hand of the one of the officers, they said.

In an ensuing scuffle, one of the officers accidentally fired off a round that struck the bathroom floor police said.

Suddenly, the woman — another knife in her raised right hand — lunged at the cops. She ignored calls to drop the knife, and one of the officers fired a round into her right thigh, police said.

She was rushed to Jacobi Medical Center, where she was stable, police said. The woman, who was not identified, has not been charged.

The officer who was cut was treated at Jacobi Medical Center and released.
