LOWER MANHATTAN — The Wall Street Burgers food truck is missing.

Moe Chowdhury, the truck's owner, sent out frantic calls on Twitter and Facebook starting late Tuesday night, asking fans for help in searching for the large red truck.

"Our Food Truck has been stolen by an ex-employee," a Facebook post said. "Please let us know if you spot it anywhere."

Chowdhury allowed a former employee to borrow the truck last week, but the employee was supposed to return it on Sunday, he told DNAinfo.

The former employee told Chowdhury to meet him at several different places all across the city but failed to show up at each place, Chowdhury said.

In the meantime, the former employee continued to use the truck, selling the food that remained inside and pocketing the money, Chowdhury said.

Now, Chowdhury, 31, an Astoria resident, is worried about how he will support his wife and two young daughters.

"Please return our truck," Chowdhury said. "We have a family to run and a business to run."

Chowdhury said he reported the vehicle's disappearance to the police.

Chowdhury launched Wall Street Burgers late last spring after quitting his technology job on Wall Street. He specializes in grass-fed beef and free-range turkey burgers, topped with a special "Money Sauce" and accompanied by spicy curly fries. The truck regularly parks all over Manhattan, not just on Wall Street.

Anyone who spots the Wall Street Burgers truck can email the owner at info@wallstreetburgers.com.
