Bruce Springsteen Rocks the Apollo

MANHATTAN — Bruce Springsteen rocked the Apollo Theater Friday night in his first performance at the hallowed Harlem venue with his E Street Band.

In what was his first concert without saxophonist Clarence Clemons, who died over the summer, Springsteen played for more than two hours to a crowd of celebs and VIPS for Sirius XM satellite radio's 10th anniversary party.

The set saw the Boss play nearly half of his new album, "Wrecking Ball," plus classics such as "Thunder Road," "Tenth Avenue Freeze Out," and "The E Street Shuffle."  But in an homage to the venerable venue that hosted him, Springsteen also launched into covers of songs recorded by Wilson Pickett and the Temptations.

The New York Times published the full set list. It ran:

• We Take Care of Our Own
• Wrecking Ball
• Badlands
• Death to My Hometown
• My City of Ruins
• The E Street Shuffle
• Jack of All Trades
• Shackled and Drawn
• Waiting on a Sunny Day
• Promised Land
• Mansion on the Hill
• The Way You Do the Things You Do
•  634-5789
• The Rising
• We Are Alive
• Thunder Road
• Rocky Ground
• Land of Hope and Dreams
• Tenth Avenue Freeze Out
