Woman Wanted for Swiping iPhone in Morningside Heights

MANHATTAN — Police are hunting a woman wanted for yanking an iPhone from the hands of another female on West 113th Street in Morningside Heights.

The suspect allegedly approached the woman from behind near Amsterdam Avenue about 1:50 p.m. on Feb. 24, grabbed her hair and snatched the iPhone from her hand as the victim was talking on it, police said.

The suspect then fled east on West 113th Street before heading north on Amsterdam Avenue, police said. She is described as in her mid-20s and was last seen wearing blue jeans, a tan jacket and carrying a multicolored handbag.
