UPPER EAST SIDE — A fire broke out inside a vacant apartment on East 90th Street Wednesday afternoon, fire officials said.

Firefighters were called to the fifth-floor apartment at 413 E. 90th St., between First and York avenues, about 1:15 p.m., the FDNY said.

There were no reported injuries, he said.

Officials said workers were refinishing the floor in the apartment when the small fire began.

The cause of the fire was under investigation, officials said.
