BRONX — Service on the B and D train lines were temporarily shut down between Harlem and the Bronx during the Tuesday morning rush, transit officials said.
Loss of third rail power knocked out service on those lines from 145th to 161st streets in both directions about 8:30 a.m., said Kevin Ortiz, an MTA spokesman.
Service was restored about an hour later, he said.
Ortiz said southbound B trains are running on local tracks, while D trains are going express from 170th Street to 145th Street. Uptown trains are running normally.
The service disruption was not related to the late night subway station closures this week along the Sixth Avenue lines, Ortiz said.
