MANHATTAN — A father and son were found mysteriously dead in their Parkchester home Saturday night, police said.

Joseph Valerio, Sr., 85, and his son, Joseph Valerio, Jr., 46, were discovered at their home on Beach Avenue, near Archer Street, after a 911 call was made for an unconscious person at 9:30 p.m.

Sources said that the father was found lying face up in the bedroom and the son was discovered face up in the living room.

According to the Daily News, Valerio Jr.'s sister discovered the men after not hearing from them for couple of weeks.

Investigators believe the father died, who was in poor health, died from a seizure and the son, who was mentally disabled, died some time afterward, the News said.

Police said there were no apparent signs of criminality

An autopsy was conducted on both men Sunday, but further testing was needed, the medical examiner's office said.
