GREENPOINT — From "traditional" to "suicidal" to "scorching death" — a host of Brooklyn hot wings are going tip to tip to be declared Brooklyn's most scrumptious.

The third annual Best Wings in Brooklyn Competition will bring together dozens of the borough's top  contenders Saturday February 25 at 2 pm. The showdown, at Red Star sports bar on 37 Greenpoint Avenue, features varieties from Bonnie's Grill of Park Slope, Mulholland's of Williamsburg, 773 Lounge of Ditmas Park, Lone Star of Bay Ridge, and Life Cafe 983 of Bushwick, to name a few.

The finalists have all been chosen from nominations on Facebook and local blogs, and now attendees at Saturday's event can vote for the People's Choice Award wings. A five-person panel of food and entertainment writers will select their favorite for the Judge's Choice Award.

Part of the funds raised at the festivities will go towards the "Atlas Kids and Cops" boxing program that teaches boxing to inner city youth in Brooklyn boxing. The event is also being held in partnership with the East River Ferry, which is available for transportation to Greenpoint a few blocks from Red Star. The competition is sponsored by Yelp, the Brooklyn Paper, and Brooklyn Exposed.
