BRONX — A child was seriously injured in a car crash on the Bronx River Parkway Tuesday evening, authorities said.

The incident occurred on the parkway at East Gun Hill Road shortly after 6 p.m. in the Norwood section of the Bronx, the FDNY said.

The child, whose age was not immediately known, was taken to Jacobi Medical Center in serious condition, fire officials said.

Five others were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

It was not immediately clear what caused the crash.
