MANHATTAN — A man was shot in the leg on Amsterdam Avenue in Harlem early Saturday — at the same public housing complex where teen basketball star Tayshana “Chicken” Murphy was gunned down last year, police said.

The victim, in his 20s, suffered a gunshot wound to upper right leg shortly after midnight at 1315 Amsterdam Ave., near La Salle Street, police and fire officials said.

He was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital with non life-threatening injuries, authorities said.

The gunfire erupted at the Grant Houses, where Murphy was killed in September over an apparent feud between rivals from the complex and the nearby Manhattanville Houses.

In October, a 16-year-old boy was shot in the shoulder at Amsterdam Avenue and West 129th Street in an incident also blamed on the rivalry.

Tayshana Murphy, 18, was killed in her Grant Houses apartment on Sept. 11, 2011.
