QUEENS — A man died under mysterious circumstances in Corona early Tuesday, officials said.

Paramedics responded to a walkway in front of 111-10 38th Ave. about 7:30 a.m. and found the victim in traumatic arrest, fire officials said. His face had been battered, police said.

"He was just laying flat," a woman who saw the body said through a Spanish interpreter.

The man, who wasn't carrying identification but appeared to be in his 20s, died at the scene, fire officials said.

Cops canvassed the area but didn't find a suspect. No arrests have been made.

The cause of death is under investigation, police said.
