QUEENS — A teenage boy was shot on a city bus in Far Rockaway Thursday afternoon, horrifying passengers just before the rush-hour commute, authorities said.

The 16-year-old victim was struck by gunfire in the lower leg on the Q111 bus near Central and Mott avenues about 3:10 p.m., police and fire sources said.

He was taken to Long Island Jewish Medical Center and is expected to survive, authorities added.

Scores of cops swarmed the area looking for suspects in the shooting, sources said.

The violence erupted near the Far Rockaway-Mott Avenue subway station, the last stop on the A train, where many straphangers transfer to city buses, authorities added.
