MANHATTAN — The private hospital room Beyoncé and Jay-Z used for the delivery of their newborn girl, Blue Ivy Carter, over the weekend features luxurious surroundings, including plush beds, sofas and flat-screen TVs, the gossip site TMZ.com revealed.
Images of the private room at Lenox Hill Hospital on the Upper East Side showed how Beyoncé and hubby Jay-Z stayed comfortable before the star couple's instantly famous spawn was born.
A spokeswoman for Lenox Hill confirmed the photos' authenticity but could not say who took them or how they were made public.
The hospital's "executive suite" — featuring private rooms available from $700 to $800 a night — includes seven individual rooms that can be reconfigured to suit the guest, spokeswoman Ann Silverman said.
"The standard price was paid," she said of the cost, adding she wasn't sure if Beyoncé and Jay-Z took over all seven rooms.
The power couple reportedly paid $1.3 million for the accommodations, though Silverman would not comment specifically on that figure.
