MANHATTAN — The Big Apple hasn't gotten much snow this winter, but get ready for up to an inch of rain Wednesday night.
Showers are going to move into the area starting about 7 p.m. and are expected to get heavier through the night, according to AccuWeather.
The rain will continue through about noon Thursday with another quarter of inch possible.
Coastal flooding in the city is possible during high tide Thursday morning into the afternoon, the National Weather Service warns.
The storm will be followed by a cold front Friday with wind gusts in excess of 50 mph, the weather service added. Temperatures will rise to 46 degrees but feel more like around freezing with the wind chill.
The mercury will then hover in the mid-30s during the day this weekend before dipping to about 18 degrees Sunday night.
The storm will put an end to an unusually warm January, when temperatures were in the 40s and 50s on most days, except for a brief two-day shot of frigid temperatures.
