MIDTOWN — A heavily armed South Carolina man was arrested after allegedly jumping the turnstile at a Times Square subway station late Sunday afternoon.

Police stopped the man after he hopped over the A-C-E train turnstile at 42nd Street and Eighth Avenue at about 5:30 p.m. and found several weapons on him, according to the NYPD.

The man, identified as 33-year-old Allen Reggie, had a loaded Smith & Wesson .45 caliber handgun in his waistband and a loaded Luger Tec-9 machine gun in a bag he was carrying, police said.

Allen, who hails from Columbia, South Carolina, faces several weapons possession charges.

Last week, Meredith Graves, of Tennessee, was arrested for bringing a gun to the 9/11 Memorial.

Graves arrest sparked a debate about New York State's tough gun laws and how they should apply to tourists who mistakenly bring registered weapons with them when touring the city. She faces a minimum of three and a half years in jail if convicted.
