MANHATTAN —  A fire broke out Thursday afternoon at a building under renovation at 88 Nassau St., fire officials said.

Roughly 60 firefighters responded to the 12:21 p.m. call and had the fire contained in less than half an hour. It apparently started on the roof, FDNY officials said.

There were no injuries. Fire officials are investigating the cause.

"It was small," a construction worker at the building said after the fire was put out. "Everyone is back to work."

The building formerly housed Nassau Electronics had a sign on it said the store was going to return after the renovation.
