MANHATTAN — A man was struck by a PATH train at the 23rd Street station in Chelsea Wednesday afternoon and survived, authorities said.

The incident happened at the 23rd Street PATH station at 4:10 p.m., the FDNY said. Service was suspended between 33rd Street and Hoboken while police investigated the incident.

Straphangers were being asked to head to the World Trade Center station for PATH service to New Jersey.

The man was taken to Bellevue Hospital, but his condition was not immediately clear.  It was also not known how he ended up on the tracks.

The Port Authority said that service was suspended between 33rd Street and Journal Square in Jersey City. Trains were also not running between 33rd Street and Hoboken, a spokesman said.
