MANHATTAN — A water main break in Gramercy sent water cascading into a basement and a Con Ed facility Saturday evening, authorities said.

The 4:35 p.m. break, at 201 E. 21st St., forced officials to close off the street between Second and Third Avenues, the FDNY said.

Officials said that water had gotten into the basement of the building as well as a Con Ed vault nearby.

Workers from the city's Department of Environmental Protection were shutting off water to the area.

There were no immediate reports of injuries or evacuations, but delays were expected in the area.
