MIDTOWN — Hundreds of people took time out of their Thanksgiving Day to enjoy some warm ice skating weather at Bryant Park on Thursday.

Revelers skated to the sounds of Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett and festive holiday music.

"We didn't know about this. It's so much fun. We went to the Parade and then walked down here and found this," said Juan Sanchez, 35, who came into Manhattan from the Bronx with his girlfriend Maria Gonzalez, 28.

"It's so romantic to be ice skating on Thanksgiving Day," Gonzalez added.

With many retailers and schools closed Bryant Park was also a location for people to take their children.

"I love Thanksgiving! I'm spending the holiday with my grandchildren, enjoying the sun and dancing with strangers in the winter sun," said Alice Cobbs, 29.

Rockefeller Center ice skating rink was also open Thursday as well as Lasker and Wollman rinks in Central Park.

Other city attractions like the Empire State Building and Statue of Liberty were also welcoming visitors on Thanksgiving Day.
