MANHATTAN — Writer/activists Michael Moore and Naomi Klein have been Occupy Wall Street regulars and on Thursday night in Greenwich Village they will discuss the movement.
A talk called "Occupy Everywhere: On the New Politics and Possibilities of the Movement Against Corporate Power" will be held at The New School on Thursday, Nov. 10 at 8 p.m., according to the school's website.
Moore, who has participated in "Occupy" protests in several cities, and Klein, author of "The Shock Doctrine," will be joined by Occupy Wall Street organizer Patrick Bruner, Colorlines.com publisher Rinku Sen and The Nation's national affairs correspondent William Greider. The talk will be moderated by TheNation.com executive editor Richard Kim.
The free talk, which is sponsored by The Nation and The New School, will be held at 66 W. 12th St. in the Tishman Auditorium of Alvin Johnson/J. M. Kaplan Hall, according to the New School's site.
People who cannot attend can watch via online live stream.
Moore said on "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" on Tuesday night that he believes the demands of democracy have changed.
"I think the old model where we all sit back and let the leaders do it doesn't work. It works when every American considers themselves a leader," he said. "It's a democracy — this is not a spectator sport."
