EAST VILLAGE —A fire broke out on the fifth floor of an East Village residential building Thursday afternoon.
The blaze at 67 East Second Street between Second and First avenues broke out at about 2:30 p.m. Thursday afternoon, but no one was hurt, fire officials said. It was under control by 3:08 p.m., the FDNY said.
There were no injuries and the cause of the fire is under investigation, officials said.
