MANHATTAN — Police are seeking to question a person of interest in the recent shooting death of an Alphabet City teen.

Hockeem Smith, 24, is wanted for questioning by the NYPD in the fatal shooting of 18-year-old Donovan "Keith" Salgado, who was gunned down near the Campos Plaza housing complex on East 12th Street near Avenue C on Oct. 16, police said.

Salgado lived only a few blocks away on East Ninth Street, where friends and family gathered last week for vigil in his memory.

Smith is described at standing 5 foot 6 inches tall and weighing and 140 pounds, police said.
