Tattooed Mugger Sought in Chelsea and East Harlem Robberies

By Tom Liddy | October 16, 2011 12:49pm

MANHATTAN — A tattooed thief is wanted for a string of more than a dozen daylight muggings — primarily targeting teens — in Manhattan and Brooklyn, police said.

The suspect, who has "I love Sex" inked on his hand as well as several other tattoos on his neck and arms, allegedly blames the victims for assaulting or robbing his niece before targeting them.

Cops said that on Sept. 9, he set on a 19-year-old man near 220 W. 24th St., in Chelsea, displayed a gun and stole the victim's jewelry and iPod.

Six days earlier, he allegedly robbed a 16-year-old girl on East 103rd Street and Third Avenue, in East Harlem, making off with her jewelry and iPod.

And cops said that on Aug. 26, he grabbed a pocketbook from a 24-year-old woman in East Harlem, although the exact location was not known.

The suspect has struck 13 other times in Brooklyn, robbing girls and boys as young as 14 beginning on June 13, police said.

Two of those incidents were on the subway.
