UPPER WEST SIDE — A school bus was involved in a minor crash with a car on the Upper West Side Thursday morning, Fire Department officials said.
A yellow bus with 17 kids inside was rear-ended by a car on the West Side Highway, fire officials said. The bus driver pulled over onto West 96th Street and West End Avenue and one student was taken to St. Luke's Hospital as a precaution, fire officials said.
Fire officials at the scene did not immediately say what school the bus was heading to.
Lee Selby, whose family owns Selby Transportation Corporation, which owns the bus company, said that there were "no serious injuries at all, no one was hurt, it was just precautionary measures. All parents were notified."
Selby said the bus was headed to a private school in Riverdale, the Bronx. He did not immediately have the name of the school.
