MANHATTAN — The Coast Guard helped rescue a boater who was having difficulty breathing near the George Washington Bridge Sunday morning.
A 25-foot boat with two people on board became disabled just before 10 a.m. about a mile north of the bridge, according to Petty Officer Thomas McKenzie.
One of the people on board was having trouble breathing and needed to use a nebulizer.
The FDNY, which had a boat nearby, sent its divers to assist those on board, McKenzie said.
Meanwhile, the Coast Guard dispatched a boat to tow the disabled craft, which had lost an engine, back to land.
Both people on board were taken to Englewood Hospital in stable condition.
