MIDTOWN — A man accused of snatching chains from the necks of pedestrians is behind bars following a police chase through Midtown.
NYPD sources said Curtis Moore, 48, prowled the West Side on his bike, ripping necklaces off the necks of passersby and pedalling away.
Police had linked him to at least five separate incidents in and around Hell’s Kitchen, but had no description of his face because his getaways were too fast for his victims to see him.
When cops in the Midtown North Precinct heard a radio call on Monday reporting a similar incident on the East Side, quick thinking officers acted on a hunch that the snatcher might return to his usual stomping grounds, sources said.
“Lo and behold, he shows up," a source said.
