WASHINGTON HEIGHTS — A fire in a Washington Heights apartment building left seven people hurt and dozens evacuated early Monday, an FDNY official said.
The blaze on the fifth floor of a six-story apartment building at 870 Riverside Drive, near 160th Street, started at 1:30 a.m. Twelve FDNY units took nearly two hours to get it under control.
The hurt suffered minor injuries due to smoke inhalation and were transported to New York-Presbyterian Hospital. No firefighters were hurt in the blaze, the FDNY said.
