MANHATTAN — Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer got a big celebrity endorsement Thursday when actress Scarlett Johansson said she would support him in the 2013 mayoral race.

“I love Scott,” the Village-bred starlet told Politicker NY. “He’s so the right guy for the job.”

Johansson went on to say she supports the borough president's environmental record and his advocacy for affordable housing.

“Scott’s very environmentally aware, and he wants to reinvest in New York in a cultural way, in a social way — to make the city affordable and available and enjoyable for New Yorkers," she told the publication.

"That’s what I want to see. Everyone I know that grew up here or lives here or works here, we want that. We want to see transportation expanded. We want a greener New York, a cleaner New York.”

Johansson's twin brother, Hunter, reportedly works on the Stringer campaign. And her grandmother worked with him in the '80s to expand Mitchell-Lama housing.
