MANHATTAN — The chef famous for serving diners cheese made from his wife's breast milk has abandoned his three restaurants and will be opening up a new one in September.
Chef Daniel Angerer is focusing entirely on the new venture, which Eater reports will involve a "growing restaurant group." The new food joint will focus on "bringing sustainable, local fare on a larger scale."
In May, Angerer closed Brats, his sausage shop. June saw the close of Klee Brasserie, where discerning customers could get a taste of the cheese, served with maple carmelized pumpkin.
He's now selling both Klee and his third venture, Little Cheese Pub.
Angerer wrote in an email that he was holding back details on the new restaurant until an official announcement in September.
There's no word if the restaurant will feature the controversial cheese.
