INWOOD — A gun was fired at an Inwood apartment building Sunday night after two alleged robbers showed up to a woman's door demanding cash, police said.

The incident began when two men knocked on the door of the woman's Cooper Street apartment about 10:40 p.m., the NYPD said.

They demanded cash in Spanish, forcing the woman to hand over her purse, police said.

At least one shot was fired during the exchange, but no one was hit by the bullet, police added.

The woman suffered a cut to the head during the exchange. The men fled the scene, the NYPD said.

A description of the two suspects was not immediately available.
