HELL'S KITCHEN — A body was found floating in the Hudson River near 57th Street Tuesday afternoon, a fire department spokesman said.
Officials said the individual was declared dead just after 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.
An emergency worker at the scene said he spotted the body, which appeared to be male, floating north in the river near the 57th Street pier.
Police boats were still on the scene on Tuesday afternoon.
The identity of the individual was not immediately released.
