MANHATTAN — New York-Presbyterian Hospital of Columbia and Cornell ranked No. 1 in the New York metro area for the 11th year in a row, according to a new survey of 5,000 hospitals nationwide.
"We are pleased to once again be ranked among the nation's best hospitals," Dr. Herbert Pardes, President and CEO of New York–Presbyterian Hospital, said in a press release.
"Patients at our hospital are cared for by some of the world's leading physicians and surgeons who are dedicated to offering the most advanced treatment options in a compassionate and caring environment.”
The hospital, with major locations on the Upper East Side and Washington Heights, ranked sixth nationwide, placing it among 17 hospitals on U.S. News & World Report’s "Best Hospitals" Honor Roll. The annual survey compares the nation’s hospital in several treatment areas.
"This special recognition from U.S. News reflects the steadfast commitment of our physicians, nurses and our entire staff to support patients as they face their biggest medical challenges," Dr. Steven J. Corwin, executive vice president and COO of the hospital, said in a statement.
New York University’s Langone Medical Center in Kips Bay ranked second in the metro area, and Mount Sinai Hospital in Carnegie Hill ranked third in New York and 16th nationally.
