Free Flicks Come to the Hudson River

CHELSEA — Movie lovers can enjoy free summer screenings at the Hudson River Park starting Wednesday night.

Hudson River Park's RiverFlicks for Grown-Ups kicks off at dusk Wednesday on the Pier 63 lawn between West 22nd and 24th streets with a free showing of "The Social Network," the popular film based on Mark Zuckerberg's creation of Facebook.

The festival, organized by the Hudson Park River Trust and sponsored by amNew York, runs each Wednesday until August 17.

RiverFlicks screenings will also include "The Fighter," "The Kids are All Right," and "The Town."

Starting Friday the park will also hold weekly RiverFlicks for Kids at Pier 46 in Greenwich Village. The first screening is of Karate Kid

Popcorn is free as well, with snacks and drinks available for purchase.
