MANHATTAN - Rain, rain, go away...and it should.

Sunday's gloomy skies and downpours are set to give way to balmy temps and mostly clear skies for July 4th, according to the National Weather Service.

Showers and thunderstorms are expected before midnight, giving way to fog and a low of 71.

For July 4th, there is a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 p.m., with a high of 91, but otherwise there will be mostly sunny skies, according to the NWS.

For the Macy's fireworks display Monday night on the Hudson River, there is also a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms before 9 p.m., with partly cloudy skies and a low of around 70.

The Macy's show kicks off at 9 p.m.
